Amy says 'it's anyone's game' ahead of Traitors final

After her shock murder on Sunday night's episode of The Traitor's Ireland, Amy has said she believes the remaining Traitors are still hiding in plain sight.

The Kildare woman had made it to the latter stages of the game before her time in Slane Castle came to an end. Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment, she admitted that while she tried to trust her instincts throughout, the intensity of the game made it difficult to see the bigger picture.

"When you are in the moment, you are so fully immersed that you cannot see past that moment, you cannot see after that roundtable or the next morning. It is literally just that present moment," she said.

Amy explained that her approach was to focus on the immediate moment rather than a long-term strategy. "I just took it day by day. Who I trusted in that moment, in that morning, at that breakfast, and hoping the person that I told my theory to wasn’t going to throw me under a bus or use it against me.

"I never saw anything as a major betrayal. It is such an interesting dynamic for a game show because it is a team effort to find the Traitors, but it is also every man for himself - how do I get to the end and how do I survive?"

Amy said that she suspected either Ben or Nick but not both. "I was shook when I saw that. They are flying under the radar and able to sit back and chill."

She also believes her own confidence may have cost her. "I was quite mouthy about how I would figure it out and I think I signed my own death certificate," she admitted.

Despite her exit, Amy praised the way the remaining players have approached the game. "I think the boys are playing a very smart game. No one suspects them as they are so loved in there because they were original Faithfuls and the 'Traitorhunters’. I am hoping the girls sniff them out, but it’s hard to see how. It’s anyone’s game."

With only a handful of contestants left, tonight’s final promises one last dramatic roundtable before the winner of The Traitors Ireland is revealed.

The Traitors Ireland concludes on Tuesday at 9:35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player. The Traitors Ireland: Uncloaked starts directly after The Traitors Ireland on RTÉ2.
