It follows his debut single, The Gift of Freedom, and follow-up Christmas charity single O’ Holy Night.
'’We’re All Alone has resonated with people for almost fifty years and is still as impressive as ever," Rian says. "My aim is to bring myself to the song with truthfulness and find the emotion in the melody and lyrics."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I am caring, driven and passionate purely because in everything I do I try to be gentle and give everything my all to the best of my ability so that I know I’ve done my best.
How would you describe your music?
I would describe my music as honest and true to who I am as my writing comes from the heart and stories I know well.
Who are your musical inspirations?
My biggest inspiration would be Dolly Parton in her songwriting and how she presents herself to the listener with sublime harmonies and tones in her voice. On the other hand, Cher gives me the power to push myself in every way.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
My first gig was Dolly Parton in the 02 in Dublin 2014, on the Blue Smoke Tour I went with my Nanny and we wore curly blonde wigs.
What was the first record you ever bought?
I can’t remember the first one but I remember burning out The Corrs’ White Light album on my Walkman, especially in Italy that summer.
What’s your favourite song right now?
My favourite song right now would be The World We Left Behind by The Fizz, I am obsessed with them and they’re so genuine.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"I’ve tried and I have failed lord, I’ve won and I have lost" - Glen Campbell. Something about this song in particular just feels like it should be a part of me, it’s so ghost-like and gets under my skin.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Definitely Bonnie Tyler’s Believe in Me. Her vocals are so absorbing and it pulls you in from every angle, it makes me smile and wanna burst our singing it at the top of my lungs.
Where can people find your music/more information?
You can find me under Rían on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and YouTube.
