Author Marian Keyes and actors Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley attended the premiere screening of new RTÉ drama The Walsh Sisters in Dublin on Wednesday night.

The six-part series debuts on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday 28 September at 9.30pm and is based on Keyes' best-selling novels Rachel's Holiday and Anybody Out There?

It follows five sisters - Anna, Rachel, Claire, Maggie and Helen - as they navigate addiction, family crises, and the ties that hold them together.

The full cast of the show attended the screening at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar on Wednesday night.

Louisa Harland stars as Anna, with Caroline Menton as Rachel, Danielle Galligan as Claire, Máiréad Tyers as Helen, and Stefanie Preissner as Maggie. Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley play their parents, while the cast also includes Jay Duffy, Samuel Anderson and Debi Mazar.

The series was written by Preissner, who previously penned TV series Faithless and the movie Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, and Kefi Chadwick and directed by Ian Fitzgibbon. It is produced by Cuba Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures for RTÉ, in association with the BBC, Screen Ireland and Cineflix Rights.
