Pick of the Day

This programme will be hearing from the people constructing Ireland's future, working to build 300,000 new homes by 2030.

There’s also Romanian builder-priest Adrian Groza, and Kate Fahey - one of the world's youngest female tower crane operators.

New or Returning Shows

Trump v The Truth, 10pm, Channel 4

As the title suggests, this programme – coinciding with Trump’s UK visit - is expected to cover everything from the US president’s false boast that his administration had "stopped $50m being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas", to his debunked claim to have sent Ukraine more than $300bn (£220bn) in wartime aid.

Smaller but similarly inaccurate claims about the price of eggs and the impact of immigration are also expected to be examined.

SEPTEMBER 7: President Donald Trump

The programme could also cause difficulties during the trip should it seek to examine his claims over his relationship with the late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump denied writing an illustrated message to Epstein and is suing the Wall Street Journal over its report of the document, which has since been published.

"Donald J Trump loves making history," said Ian Katz, Channel 4’s chief content officer.

"So, on Wednesday Channel 4 will do just that: we’ll show what we believe to be the longest uninterrupted reel of untruths, falsehoods and distortions ever broadcast on television.

"We hope it will remind viewers how disorientating and dangerous the world becomes when the most powerful man on Earth shows little regard for the truth.

"And if President Trump cares to watch along after the state banquet, he may even clear up a few misconceptions."

Doc, 9.00pm, Sky Witness

Streaming on NOW

This was originally down for Monday, but here we are. Hopefully, it does actually start tonight. It looks very promising.

As the title suggests, this is a new US medical drama, starring Molly Parker (Deadwood, Goliath).

After a brain injury erases the last eight years of Dr Amy Larsen's life, she must navigate what’s suddenly become an unfamiliar world.

It’s one where she has no recollection of patients she's treated, colleagues she's crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves or the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away.

She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience.

Éire agus Na Chéad Naisiúin, 9.30pm, TG4

Filmed as a road movie across the USA, this film offers a dual perspective - examining the Irish immigrant experience through both our own lens and that of the Indigenous peoples impacted by our arrival.

From trade and war to alliances and betrayal, this film explores the complex and often contradictory roles Irish settlers played in shaping Native American history.

Featuring contributions from leading Irish historians and prominent First Nations voices, the documentary sheds light on how Irish emigrants were both the oppressed and the oppressors.
