Mischa and the Bear have released the video for their single, Forever Ago, from their debut EP, Even Unto The Next World. We asked them the BIG questions . . .

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

We both grew up in Drogheda.

We love Korean food.

Our band name is based on both of our middle names.

How would you describe your music?

Mischa: Angsty, ethereal, and fun.

Who are your musical inspirations?

]

Mischa: yeule, Oklou, Magdalena Bay, Björk, Jack White.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Bear: This is purely coincidence but the first time I recall ever seeing a band play live was in our local youth centre back in 2014, when they would have live bands play every Friday, and my neighbour brought me once. The band was a teenage band (that doesn't exist anymore) called Rogue Generator and the lead singer was a teenage Mischa. And now we’re in a band together.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Bear: Love Angel Music Baby by Gwen Stefani was the first album I ever made my parents buy for me, and then Dookie by Green Day was the first that I bought with my own money.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Mischa: Freedom at 21 by Jack White.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Bear: I love all the lyrics to Banshee Beat by Animal Collective. Some of my favourites are: "Someone in my dictionary's up to no good; I found new feelings at the feeling store, Either way you look at it, you have your fits, I have my fits, but feeling is good".

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mischa: Probably something ambient, like An Ending (Ascent) by Brian Eno.
