Pick of the Day

The Donald Trump Show, 9.00pm, Channel 4

This new show promises a novel take on the US president's second term in office, recutting archive news clips as drama to retell Trump's story as the country slides further into chaos and authoritarianism.

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 30: Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks alongside U.S. President Donald Trump to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on May 30, 2025 in Washington, DC. The first episode focuses on the tumultuous, unlikely and once-close relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk (above), the world’s richest – if not brightest - man.

One Valentine's Day In Edinburgh, 10.35pm, RTÉ One

Streaming on RTÉ Player

Here’s a documentary looking at the day the first Irish Women's International Rugby team ran onto the pitch to face their Scottish counterparts in Edinburgh and made history together on Valentine's Day in 1993.

Fifty years ago, women were essentially banned from running marathons, an activity that was viewed as far beyond their capabilities. How ridiculous does that seem now?

Women are curtailed from realising their potential, or just from taking part in things that are normal and accessible to men, all the time, being told what they can and cannot or should and should not do.

Today Irish women's rugby has a massive following, both domestically and internationally. Their matches are shown live on television and their players have become household names.

Thirty years ago, this was unthinkable as women’s rugby essentially did not exist.

Meanwhile, over on BBC One at 10.40pm there’s Girl Fight, a fly-on-the-wall documentary following female MMA fighters training at Next Generation gym in Ballymena under head coach Rodney Moore.

Gogglebox Ireland, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

Season 11 kicks off with a celebrity special.

A star-studded line-up including Rosie O'Donnell (above), Emma Doran, Deirdre O'Kane, Pat Shortt and Garron Noone, and stars of The Chase Shaun Wallace, Darragh Ennis and Jenny Ryan offer their opinions on the best small-screen moments from the past week.

Others popping up with their thoughts are Louis Walsh, Dave Fanning, Ray D'Arcy, Dustin the Turkey, Lucy Kennedy and podcast stars the Young Hot Guys.

Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer (below) are back again to guide more house-hunters through an ever-changing UK market, beginning in the West Country.

First-time buyers Jesse and Cameron have saved a deposit by living with their respective parents and now they have a budget of £280,000 for a Bristol home in which they can start their own family.

In nearby Bath, amateur basketball player Andrea wants a period property in a lively part of the city for her £400,000.

Phil's first offering is such a beauty, it seems to be a slam dunk - until he presents Andrea with a prime location fixer-upper which also scores points.

The National Television Awards, 8.00pm, UTV/ITV1

Joel Dommett (below) hosts the 30th edition of the ceremony, as stars and fans gather for one of the biggest nights in British TV, from the O2 Arena, London.

Vying for prizes are all the headline-making shows of the year including the unifying finale of Gavin & Stacey, the searingly powerful Adolescence, Vera's poignant farewell and the attention-grabbing arrival of Jilly Cooper's Rivals.
