Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I am an avid music fan, with a love for early 90s Britpop and guitar bands but share my birthday with Taylor Swift! I am a walking contradiction! (That's four!)
How would you describe your music?
We do our best to create music that blends indie rock, post-Britpop, and electronic rock elements with a strong foundation in guitar-based songwriting. Our sound is often described as having a hazy, atmospheric quality, sometimes reminiscent of psychedelic rock, and is known for its cinematic, emotionally resonant nature.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Too many! But to select a top three - The Beatles, Oasis, The Stone Roses (We sound like none of these by the way!)
What was the first gig you ever went to?
That would have been Oasis in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork, 1996. I travelled down with my friends in the back of their parents' van! Day trippers! What an experience at 15! Great times. Unbelievable gig. Life-defining actually! That would be the first gig I ever went to...unless you count my parents' weekly sing song in the local church choir!
What was the first record you ever bought?
With my own Punt (probably communion money) it was The Motown Song by Rod Stewart and The Temptations. I think I really enjoyed the cartoon video as a kid, that must have convinced me to pay over the hard earned?! When I actually had "my own" money it was Definitely Maybe by Oasis.
What's your favourite song right now?
Right now, I would have to say Favourite By Fontaines D.C. It's a close call between that and Starburster, but the melody and guitar lines in the former settle it for me! They put on an exceptional performance at the recent All Together Now festival to back that up! I am also enjoying the recent growth of CMAT, who also blew me away at ATN, with a notable nod to the recent return of Doves too! Great music out there to be found!
Favourite lyric of all time?
Nigh on impossible to narrow it to one lyric, mood can easily dictate the response by the hour! but I would say the most impactful on a young me was possibly: "Maybe I will never be, all the things that I wanna be, now is not the time to cry, now's the time to find out why, I think you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see, you and I are gonna live forever" - Oasis. Hearing that at the tender age of 13 caused quite the impact!
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I mean, too much of anything is detrimental to your health and well-being, but if pushed I would pitch for I am the Resurrection by The Stone Roses. From the Motown drum beat that drives the song, to the spellbinding outro instrumental and defiant lyrical refrain throughout, it is hard not to be moved by that combination. It's an oldie, but it's a fine damn song, and it just ticks every box for me!
Where can people find your music/more information?
Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Music, the usual streaming platforms. But you can just start at Instagram - say hello and work your way from there!
