Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await.

This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem.

Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

As well as Ortega, the cast includes Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan and Billie Piper.

MasterChef, 8.00pm, BBC One

After all that’s happened recently with hosts Greg Wallace and John Torode, it’s quite surprising that the Beeb’s gone ahead with this latest run of MasterChef.

But here we are.

Over eight weeks, this year’s ambitious cooks take on the culinary adventure, hoping to chop, whisk and sizzle their way to claiming the ultimate culinary prize - the MasterChef trophy.

This episode is the first outing for the contestants across five weeks of heats as the brand-new amateur cooks enter the kitchen.

They include a vocal coach, a writer and a marketing manager, who all have their sights set on their ticket to the rest of the competition - winning a gleaming white MasterChef apron.

The contestants’ first task is Basic to Brilliant. It's their chance to turn the humblest of ingredients into an absolute show-stopper of a dish.

Those who deliver the two best plates will head into the next round, sporting their new apron.

The Fortune Hotel, 9.00pm, UTV

The games begin as Season 2 opens with a new group of guests – who have barely touched down - as host Stephen Mangan welcomes 11 new pairs to the hostelry with a Day Trip Challenge that kicks off on the airport runway.

The immediate induction features a race that involves taxis, boats and the Caribbean Sea.

Pairs must retrieve keys to earn their place at the hotel, but who will get a room and who will be at risk of heading home with emotions already running high?

Johnny Vegas: Art, ADHD and Me, 9.00pm, Channel 4

The first of two programmes in which comedian and actor Johnny Vegas goes back to his art school roots and sets out to create a striking public art installation in his hometown of St Helens in Merseyside.

Unfortunately, the project hits a roadblock as Johnny receives a life-changing diagnosis of ADHD, and as the original plan slips away, his art and life begin to merge in unexpected ways.

Air India Crash: What Went Wrong? 10.00pm, Channel 4

Documentary seeking to unpack every aspect of the recent London-bound Air India Flight AI171 plane crash, in which 260 people died on board and on the ground.

Following the recent initial findings by Indian government investigators, the film examines the possible causes of the tragedy.

Could it have been pilot error, or was some potential software or electrical system failure to blame?

The 10-episode sophomore season premieres with the first two episodes, which will be followed by one episode weekly until October 1.

Season two picks up with the pair of best friends (played by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) as they contend with new mid-life hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises.

The latest cast also includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, and introduces Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett and Milo Manheim as guest stars.

The Proud Family: Louder and Louder, Apple TV+

The Proud Family revival, which follows a newly 14-year-old Penny Proud and her family as they navigate modern life returned to the small screen in 2022, two decades after the show first premiered on Disney Channel.

This third season follows Penny Proud and her loyal crew embarking on international escapades, wild adventures, and fantastical stops packed with hilarity, heart, and, most of all, discovery.

North Circular, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Luke McManus's exceptional documentary travels the length of Dublin’s North Circular Road, from the Phoenix Park to Dublin Port, exploring the history, music and streetscapes of a street that links some of the country’s most beloved and infamous places.

Told in black and white 4:3 Academy ratio, the film evokes many narratives from the history of the city and nation, from colonialism, to mental health, to the struggle for women’s liberation.

It also engages with urgent issues of today, including the battle to save the legendary Cobblestone Pub, centre of Dublin’s recent folk revival, from destruction at the hands of cynical property developers.

The film also includes musical performances from artists local to the North Circular, including John Francis Flynn, Séan Ó Túama, Eoghan O’Ceannabháin, Ian Lynch and Gemma Dunleavy.

Destination X, 9.00pm, BBC One

I thought this was going to be pretty poor viewing, but I’m warming to it.

The European bus trip under Rob Brydon’s eye goes off-road and off the rails as the players find themselves in another mystery country.

Split into two teams, the passengers must embark on a relay race of challenges to win the all-important clues.

But another spanner is thrown in the works when host Rob Brydon brings back some familiar faces.

The Moors Murders: A Search for Justice, 9.00pm, BBC Two

The two-part documentary about the infamous murders in 1960s Britain concludes.

With new material and the use of new technology, the team reassesses what is known already and discovers several crucial new leads which could finally bring the case to a close, transforming the understanding of these crimes.

The analysis sheds light on why previous investigations have failed to find the remains of 12-year-old Keith Bennett.
