Oasis has paid tribute to the late rocker Ozzy Osbourne during the first night of the Wembley Stadium section of their world tour.

Liam Gallagher said: "I wanna dedicate this one to Ozzy Osborne: Rock N Roll Star".

The Black Sabbath singer from Birmingham died aged 76 earlier this week.

After a run of homecoming gigs in Manchester's Heaton Park, the band, fronted by Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel, took to the stage at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday night.

Oasis announced their highly anticipated reunion tour in August last year, after Noel quit in 2009 following a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

They return to Wembley Stadium for the first time since 12 July, 2009, when they performed during their Dig Out Your Soul tour.

With seven nights scheduled, the group posted door and stage timings on their Instagram account with an hour-by-hour breakdown of the evening, starting with the gates opening at 5pm.

The night kicked off from 6pm with the rock band Cast, followed by singer Richard Ashcroft at 7pm.

Oasis took to the stage for a two-hour set at 8.15pm.

After their final London gig on 3 August, the group will move north to Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium before performing at Dublin's Croke Park on 16 and 17 August.

Oasis will then head to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia, and North America.
