Neighbours is bringing back its beloved rogue character Elle, daughter of Paul Robinson (played by Stefan Dennis), in time for the grand finale.

The Australian TV show said on its Instagram: "Elle Robinson returns!

"Elle left Ramsay Street in 2009, with a guest appearance in 2019 and 2022, when the character was played by Pippa Black.

"Now played by Elise Jansen, Paul's daughter will soon be arriving on Ramsay Street, but what's brought her back after all this time?"

"Elle's dramatic storyline is set to take us right up to our nailbiting finale..." Neighbours teased.

In February, the Australian soap opera announced that it had been cancelled for a second time.

A statement on the programme's social media accounts confirmed the final episode of the 40-year-old series will air in December 2025 after production company Fremantle Media failed to secure a renewed deal with Amazon.

The soap opera follows the lives of residents in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne.

In 2022, the show was cancelled by Channel 5 in the UK after it failed to secure new funding.

A few months after what was meant to be its final episode, the series was revived by the streaming site Amazon Freevee and the production and distribution multinational Fremantle.

Neighbours airs on RTÉ One, RTÉ2, and RTÉ Player.
