Carol is left reeling in Sunday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
The drama involves a reference to Billy Meehan, Carol's late gangland husband.
Domestic abuser Meehan was clubbed to death by Carol's son Lorcan in November 2001 in a gripping Fair City storyline.
On Sunday, Carol introduces Liam to her new love interest, JJ.
"No need for introductions," says Liam. "We already know each other."
"We used to play football together in St Agnes's Green," Liam continues.
"Until you ditched us to hang out with that Meehan guy..."
"Billy Meehan?" says a terrified Carol.
"That's it! Billy Meehan," replies Liam.
Fans can watch what happens next on Sunday on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player at 8:30pm.
