Billy Joel wants to reassure his fans that he is not dying, despite canceling the rest of his tour dates across the US and UK after being diagnosed with a brain disorder.
Last month the acclaimed singer was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a condition caused by excess cerebrospinal fluid building up in the brain's ventricles.
During Tuesday's episode of The Howard Stern Show, Stern mentioned that he recently had dinner with his longtime friend Joel and shared that the music legend is currently "doing fine".
"He does have issues, but he said, 'Yeah, you can tell people, I'm not dying,'" he said. "He wants people to know that. He's got to deal with some medical stuff, but he was delightful."

Stern went on to tell his co-host Robin Quivers that he had a "great conversation" with the Piano Man hitmaker, and he even "brought out a guitar" as they celebrated Joel's birthday. Joel turned 76 on 9 May.
The radio host later joked that Joel "threw up" after Stern played "Happy Birthday" for him. "He didn't look too thrilled," said Stern, 71.
Last week Joel's wife, Alexis Roderick Joel, said his family is "hopeful for his recovery".
