Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I am an avid Jack Brown's goer (an American burger restaurant - Ed), I love, love, love the surf, and you will occasionally find me hanging a couple 100 feet up on a rock wall.

How would you describe your music?

I would like to describe my music as a little bit of a spiritual journey, at least the records as a whole. That's how I would describe it.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Musical inspirations, man, there's so many that's hard to count. I would say Phil Collins. I would say Tom Petty. I would say Jackson Browne. I would say Tina Turner, Sam Cooke, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, yeah, I'll stop there.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

First concert I ever went to was the Allman Brothers Band when I was about 15 years old, my buddy's dad had tickets, so I was a little unfamiliar with their catalogue, but I left a massive fan.

What was the first record you ever bought?

What's your favourite song right now?

An old song that I have recently discovered called Throwing It All Away by Genesis.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"Well, I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt" – Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down by Kris Kristofferson.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I'm gonna go with Van Morrison's Into The Mystic.
