As concerns mount over the health and environmental consequences of e-cigarettes, Virgin Media News reporter Mairéad Cleary (below, left) leads an in-depth investigation into the growing trend.

The documentary features frontline voices including healthcare professionals, educators, and addiction specialists who are witnessing the impact of vaping on under-18s.

The documentary also explores how the tobacco industry has responded to this relatively new trend, with critics warning of familiar marketing tactics aimed at young consumers.

In addition, the investigation looks into the emerging issue of HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) vapes, a product linked to a recent spike in young people seeking help from the HSE’s addiction services.

Recruited by DI James Marsh and DS Ashleigh Francis, Alison proves invaluable as she assists in surveilling a gang planning a major heist.

Meanwhile she also has to navigate her mother's financial struggles, a broken relationship, and the ableist attitudes she encounters at work.

They’ll be answering questions on their specialist subjects of the plays of Tom Stoppard, the 1953 ascent of Mount Everest, penguins, the music of Led Zeppelin, the German mathematician Emmy Noether and the Empire State Building.
