Here's the first of this year’s semi-finals in the Eurovision Song Contest. Ireland are not represented tonight as Emmy is due to perform in Thursday’s second semi.
Ireland’s own Eurovision King, Marty Whelan, provides the commentary, live from St Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
Fifteen acts take to stage, hoping to win one of the coveted 10 places in Saturday's main competition.
Countries competing tonight include Iceland, Poland, Ukraine, Norway, Croatia and Cyprus, while reigning champions Switzerland, Italy and Spain - who automatically quality for the final - also show off their songs.
Presented on stage in Basel by stand-up comedian Hazel Brugger and actress and singer Sandra Studer, who represented Switzerland at the contest back in 1991.

In this six-episode dark comedic series, Tom Segura navigates unthinkable situations and fantasies within a cinematic world.
Segura has described the series as 'a world where intrusive thoughts win' and includes things such as country singers kidnapping fans for lyrical inspiration and baristas literally lose their heads.
A cult classic in the making? Perhaps.

Joe’s enjoyably whimsical voyage to all the Birminghams in the USA finishes in Birmingham Alabama, the biggest US Brum of the trip.
He explores the city’s industrial heritage, its Civil Rights history and hooks up with a local comedian who introduces him to soul food. He takes to the stage at Birmingham’s oldest comedy club, reflecting on his mission to unite the Birminghams of the world.
Finally, he returns to his own Birmingham, joined by some famous Brummie faces and new American friends, to celebrate the International Day of Birmingham, a day Joe has invented to mark the historical creation of the United States of Birmingham.
