Eurosong winner EMMY and Team Ireland have arrived in Basel, Switzerland ahead of their first Eurovision Song Contest rehearsal on Monday.

The Norwegian singer-songwriter, who will represent Ireland at the Eurovision with the song Laika Party, posted photos from Oslo Airport on social media before her Sunday afternoon flight.

She was joined by her brother, Erlend Guttulsrud Kristiansen, and the dancers who will share the stage with the siblings in Basel's St Jakobshalle: Vilde Skorstad, Karin Aaeng Stuge, Kristiane Lindvik, and Christiane Bergersen.

EMMY revealed that she had been unsure whether she would make the flight "because I was one hour delayed because of a storm in Norway and blocked roads".

"We are so, so excited for Basel"

"But now I'm on the plane! I met the others!" she continued.

"We are so, so excited for Basel, to see the big stage and to see our new friends, the other contestants."

The first Eurovision Song Contest semi-final is on Tuesday 13 May. EMMY will perform third in the second semi-final on Thursday 15 May. Tune in on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player from 8pm.

The grand final is on Saturday 17 May.
