Back in 2020, Jess was pulled on stage to sing with Sam Fender at his sold-out hometown show at O2 Academy Newcastle, a moment that made her believe a career in music was truly possible.

The Redroom has sold out headline shows across the Northwest and Northeast of the UK, opened festival stages for The Kooks and Stereophonics, and played Reading and Leeds.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I was in an advert for plumbing as a kid. My favourite colour is purple. I am a bartender at one of the UK's top 50 bars.

How would you describe your music?

A unique blend of genres that appeals to everyone.

Who are your musical inspirations?

For me, I take a lot of inspiration from a range of different artists including Joy Crookes, Rufus Wainwright, Steve Lacy and Frank Ocean.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Pretty sure it was Duffy at some festival.

What was the first record you ever bought?

AM by Arctic Monkeys.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Whatever’s Inconvenient by CMAT.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"Your tongue betrays the truth behind your eyes"- Jacob Slater.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tears Dry on Their Own Demo - Amy Winehouse.
