Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Matt: I've been playing music since I was three years old, starting in Wexford School of Music with others my age and then progressing to one-on-one lessons on both violin and clarinet, while finally starting drum lessons when I turned 12.

I grew up in a very musical family doing a lot of musical theatre and slowly transitioned from being on the stage to underneath it in the pit with the band, this is when I decided I wanted to have a career in music

I was trained primarily in jazz, which I feel opened my mind into a more unorthodox approach to the drum kit, focusing on letting the rest of the band excel while also having the confidence to have a conversation with the members through the music that we play.

How would you describe your music?

Ger: Definitely a bit bold, flawed, noisy, uneasy, dreamy and a bit dejected. It’s obviously inspired, but we try and make it as intimate as possible. This has seeded from building ourselves around different scenes like the Noise Rock/Shoegaze scene in the US right now, and the good roster in Ireland. And then with our writing development, I suppose it’s trying to capture nostalgia - the pain that follows through with that and where we grew up as separate entities - through our words and soundscape in the least pretentious way possible.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Isaak: Carlos' baselines from Interpol changed the way I thought about writing basslines. A lot of noise rock like Sprain and Gilla Band changed the way I thought about music in general. I grew up on and love The Beatles so they're a constant influence.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Ger: Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons in the 3Arena, around 2014. He was lethal. Saved my Confirmation money up for it and all.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Rob: I think the first record I ever got my hands on was Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy. I must have been 10 or so. My brother and I played that in the car far too much for our parents health.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Isaak: Chelsea Smile by Bring Me the Horizon.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Ger: "This boy is cracking up, this boy has broke down" from Phil Lynott’s Old Town. Probably my favourite refrain ever. And when he says "oh la".

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Rob: I Let it in and it Took Everything by Loathe.

Where can people find your music/more information?
