Taking inspiration from artists such as Nirvana and Foo Fighters, they've toured the UK and Ireland several times, and performed at festivals such as Stendhal, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, and Sound of Belfast.
Formed in 2020, Foreign Mornings released their self-produced debut album 4AM in 2023 and are currently recording new album, Beginnings and Endings, which is released at the end of the year.
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I started playing guitar when I was 16 to procrastinate revising for exams and it sort of spiraled out of control. Crippling coffee addiction. Love cooking.
How would you describe your music?
It’s 90s rock at its core and probably always will be. Although for the last while I’ve been listening to a lot of indie folk kinda stuff so I guess the new album has a real element of that too.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Foo fighters were the band that got me into songwriting so I guess they will always be my biggest inspiration. I used to watch this documentary about them called Back and Forth on repeat and it just made me want to be in a band so badly.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Nickelback in the SSE arena, think I was 14. They ended their set with a cover of Everlong, which set me down the Foo Fighters and 90s rock rabbit hole.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Bruno Mars - Doo Wops and Hooligans. I actually listened to it the other day for the first time in a long time and it’s got some great songs on it.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Big Thief - Shark Smile. I Love it.
Favourite lyric of all time?
It’s a hard decision, I think lyrically very few bands compare to Snow Patrol. I love 'I can make my first steps, as a child of 25’ from Chocolate. Lyrically that whole song is amazing.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem. I don’t know what it is about that song but it’s one of the few songs I’ve never ever gotten bored of.
Where can people find your music/more information?
We’re on all the social media platforms under Foreign Mornings and we have a website too.
