This is the band’s fifth release and they have previously played Whelan’s and Bello Bar in Dublin and support slots to Irish acts such as And He, The Fool and Saibhín, as well as showcase performances at events such as Happy Days Fest at The Grand Social.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

We’re all self-taught musicians. We work out of our own studio in Inchicore and we’re always accompanied by three dogs: Bubbles, Poppy and Fifi!

How would you describe your music?

Our music is an amalgamation of influences and tastes. It’s catchy, to-the-point, and infectious. Our music reflects the almost six years we’ve spent writing music together and how we’ve grown to understand what works for each other and what doesn’t.

Who are your musical inspirations?

They come from all over! Influences we share are Babe Rainbow, Lemon Jelly, The Beatles, The Cure, Oasis and Blur - can’t help but have some classic Britpop in there…

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I think it was actually Macklemore in the 3Arena with my dad of all people! I remember two things; he put on a brilliant show with tons of energetic crowd engagement, and that my dad refused to stand up off his seat for the full two and a half hours…

What was the first record you ever bought?

I bought Bob Marley’s Exodus when I was about fifteen. Couldn’t have picked anything better - still one of my favourites.

What’s your favourite song right now?

At the moment it’s definitely the Oogum Boogum Song by Brenton Wood. Bit of classic Motown to brighten things up!

Favourite lyric of all time?

Bob Dylan’s line in Love Minus Zero: "She knows there’s no success like failure, and that failure’s no success at all." Rings through my mind routinely. I find it moving to praise his lover with such wisdom, and it’s also a brilliant lesson in how positive momentum can be taken from any situation.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Honestly, that’s a horrible reality to subject someone to… I’d almost rather not listen to anything! I’d probably pick something dense, Shine on You Crazy Diamond comes to mind, or Superwoman by Stevie Wonder. Something I can listen to in parts!

Where can people find your music/more information?

Anyone interested can find our music on all streaming platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal etc. We also have sooo much content - music videos, live performances, pretty pictures, and funny clips on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube under @thebandcirca. That’s where you’ll find any info for upcoming gigs and new music. We have a lot in the firing-line this year!
