Dublin singer Eddie Winston has released his second single, Build a Bridge. We asked him the BIG questions . . .
Speaking about the song, Eddie, who has overcome homelessness and drug addiction, says, "I think I was watching something online about trauma, the impact it can have on our lives and relationships and that caused me to think about my relationships.

"I was thinking about how men and women can sometimes be hurt so much that their minds unconsciously create protective measures to avoid being hurt the same way again in the future.
"It becomes so embedded in our minds that we don't even fully realise the effects it’s going to have on our future relationships and with me it was drugs, negative behaviours and anything that allowed me to escape.
"Build A Bridge is about how when you do find someone that you want to have a healthy relationship with, you must go through the process of building trust.
"You want to take care of the person, but through whatever pain they have experienced the self-protective barriers they have put up need to come down and you need to show them that you are the right person for them to take that chance with, and vice versa."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I love to read fantasy fiction novels. I love astronomy, space and sci-fi movies. I had a baby girl seven months ago. Life is so unpredictable and if you had asked me two years ago where my life would be today then this would have been the furthest thing from my mind.
How would you describe your music?
My music is a mix of indie/folk and social commentary. I write from my experiences, socially it's relevant at the moment.
Who are your musical inspirations?
I would have to say Christy Dignam and Aslan, probably because he was from around the same area on the northside. Other Irish artists would be Damien Dempsey, Glen Hansard, Damien Rice, Christy Moore, The Cranberries, U2 etc. And there are lots more I could mention.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
My first concert was a rave, Carl Cox at the Point Depot, as it was called before the 3Arena.
What was the first record you ever bought?
The first record was Christy Moore Live at the Point, amazing live album! I love listening to live performances.
What’s your favourite song right now?
I’m listening to Aslan now, This Time, Chains, all great songs.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"Every breaking wave on the shore, tells the next one there’ll be one more, And every gambler knows that to lose is what we're really there for" - U2.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would probably be Interstellar by Hans Zimmer. It's an amazing soundtrack; I like how it progresses and how you can feel the hope through the music.
Where can people find your music/more information?
My new single Build A Bridge is on Spotify and all streaming platforms. @eddiewinstonmusic on Instagram and Facebook.
