If you ever fancied yourself to be a Riverdance performer, then this could be your moment.

Riverdance is looking to add to its troupe and is holding open-call auditions for Irish dancers over two days - Thursday, 17 April and Friday, 18 April at Liffey Trust Studios Dublin from 9-5pm each day.

The open auditions are for championship-level Irish dancers aged 17+ and all participants must apply in advance at Riverdance.com. A video is not required with your application.

In 1994, Paul Harrington and Paul McGettigan won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland with Rock 'n' Roll Kids. However, it was the seven-minute interval act that stole the show.

Riverdance, with music and lyrics written by Bill Whelan, mixed traditional and modern music, choral singing and Irish dancing, and presented them in a totally new way. Over 300 million European viewers were watching and from this interval act came Riverdance the show.

In February 1995, the world premiere of Riverdance the show was held at the Point Theatre, Dublin. It went on to become an international commercial success around the world.

Last year, the Riverdance troupe, which "has transformed from a spectacle into a global cultural phenomenon", celebrated its milestone 30th anniversary with a special tour, and welcomed a new generation of performers who were not born when the show began.
