A host of stars including Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue turned out for the opening night of George Clooney's play Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway on Thursday night.
The play, a stage adaptation of Clooney's 2005 Oscar-nominated historical film of the same name, sees Clooney play American broadcast journalist Edward R Murrow as he clashes with US Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s.
Good Night, and Good Luck is directed by Tony Award-winner David Cromer from a script by Clooney and his longtime collaborator Grant Heslov. The duo also wrote the script for the original film.

Speaking to reporters in New York ahead of making his Broadway debut, Clooney admitted he was nervous about stepping on the stage, having not done live theatre since 1986.
"I haven't done a play in 40 years... so it's terrifying," Reuters reports Clooney as saying. "Yes, George Clooney gets nervous."
The 63-year-old Hollywood star, the son of broadcast TV journalist Nick Clooney, added of the play's message: "The fun part about this is we get to do a play about a subject matter that's very close to our hearts... which is telling the truth."

Good Night, and Good Luck runs on Broadway until 8 June.
