After years of local performances, Gareth began cultivating a fan base online. In Autumn 2023, he teased a snippet of his version of Stick Season by Noah Kahan and streamed his debut covers EP, Covers From Across The Pond.
He has released the singles What You Don't Know and Changing Seasons, the title track of an EP, which was released last October.
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I grew up in Castlederg and started playing at local pubs and restaurants for £50 a night. It wasn't until I started posting on TikTok that I began to grow a bigger audience. I love soccer and used to play growing up.
How would you describe your music?
My music is a blend of country music, folk music, and pop music. I write about my life and experiences growing up in Ireland. Since I get to collaborate with producers and songwriters in London and Ireland, I can some cool perspective which I think helps make a better song.
Who are your musical inspirations?
I love Luke Combs, Noah Kahan, Dylan Gossett, Dan and Shay, and Rascal Flatts.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first gig I ever went to was C2C several years ago. It is crazy to me because I got to play C2C years later.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Hunter Hayes.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Dirt Cheap by Cody Johnson. I got to see him live a couple of weeks ago and it was even more incredible hearing that song in person.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably something off of the Luke Combs record. That song Going Going Gone is one of my favourites and I play it live quite a bit.
Where can people find your music/more information?
All information can be found on my website, and my socials on IG, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube at Gareth Music.
