US actor Rob Lowe has called out California's low film industry incentives and admits "it's cheaper to bring one hundred people to Ireland".
In a recent episode of his podcast, Literally! With Rob Lowe, where he was joined by his former Parks and Recreation co-star Adam Scott, the 61-year-old explained why he films his game show, The Floor, in Dublin.
"It's cheaper to bring one hundred American people to Ireland than to walk across the lot at Fox, past the sound stages, and do it there," Lowe said.
"There are no tax credits, so like, all those other places are offering 40%. And then on top of that, there's other stuff that they do," Lowe said.
"And then, that's not even talking about union stuff. It's just tax, economics of it all, so it's criminal what California and LA have let happen - it's criminal. Everybody should be fired."
Scott also remarked that "nothing shoots in Los Angeles" anymore and wondered if their political satire sitcom would be filmed in Europe if it were made today.
"Do you think if we shot 'Parks' right now, we'd be in Budapest?" he asked, to which Lowe answered: "One-hundred percent we would be. We'd be in Budapest."
Scott, who is also known for his roles in Ghosted and Severance, said he is set to film an upcoming movie in Cork over the coming months.

During their candid conversation, the pair shared their love of Dublin with Lowe saying the city "is great" and "fantastic" while Scott said "it's beautiful".
