Irish trio Chasing Abbey have released their new single, Take Me To The Water, featuring UK act Harlee. We asked them the BIG questions . . .

The song marks a move from trad-house to country-dance and speaking about the new track, they say, "It feels like a very natural progression, blending genres has always been a core artistic belief of ours and we're so excited for the next chapter of Chasing Abbey.

"Get ready for lots of country dance! We collaborated with UK artist Harlee on this one and there’s nothing like a country duet!"

Harlee is best-known for her vocals on Joel Corry’s hit single Lonely and she says, "As soon as I heard Take Me To The Water I instantly felt connected to the song.

"Before now, I’ve co-written every single song I’ve been a part of, so this is something different for me. I’ve also never done a duet until now. dance music is what propelled me into the music industry, and I think it’ll always be a part of my journey."

Chasing Abbey hail from the Irish Midlands and are childhood friends Ro, Bee and Teddy C. Working from their studio, Penthouse Productions in Tullamore, they released their debut single, That Good Thing, in 2016.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

Bee: We are all Libras. We all take our coffee black. We all played for Offaly.

How would you describe your music?

Ted: Chasing Abbey has always been primarily dance music but we have had different eras, currently, we are having fun experimenting with trad and country alongside a dance backbone. We have always challenged ourselves to be different and make something only we could make.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Ted: This is always such a tough question to answer because there are so many but I think Johnny Cash and Biggie Smalls had the most impact on me overall.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Ro: I was obsessed with Busted as a kid so when they came to Ireland my auntie got tickets and brought me to see them. I was only about 10 years old and roared crying during their first song as I found it way too loud. We left after the first song.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Bee: The first record I ever bought was Encore by Eminem. I went on the train with my Granny to Dublin when I was young and got her to buy it for me, she didn’t know of Eminem.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Ted: My favourite song right now is Indigo by Sam Barber featuring Avery Anna.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bee: If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life it would definitely be Dancing in the Moonlight by Thin Lizzy, it just makes me feel at home.
