Meath singer songwriter Teagan Nolan has released her new single, Everything To Me. We asked her the BIG questions . . .

The 15-years-old's music was recently played in Croke Park at the Dublin and Galway Gaelic Football match.

Teagan is no stranger to the stage and screen. She has appeared on The Late Late Toy Show four times as a singer and dancer, graced the stage at Junior Eurovision Ireland in 2022 and 2023, and has been a dancer and singer for five years running with the Olympia Panto in Dublin.

She has also taken part in multiple Ivory Sessions, regularly performed with Spotlight, Garageland, and Music Generation.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I am a 15-year-old singer songwriter, dancer, actress and model who is very ambitious and hardworking and I have been training in every aspect of performance since I was eight, with the ultimate goal of becoming a pop star. I work very hard on my craft but also work behind the scenes everyday knocking on doors and looking for opportunities. Nobody is going to hand me my dreams, I have to make things happen myself.

My debut single, Act Like It, made it onto RTE Radio 1 recommends list for two weeks in a row when I was 14. I have released four songs in total and they have all been played on radio stations around over the world. I have been shocked and absolutely delighted with the support I have gotten for the songs I wrote.

The most amazing experiences I have had as a singer songwriter is having my songs added to the playlist in Croke Park for matches and being invited to sing alongside Dermot Kennedy and Sister Sledge in the RDS at Barretstown's 30th year anniversary gala.

How would you describe your music?

I would describe my music as pop. I like to write upbeat songs people can dance along to like my songs Everything To Me, Act Like It and Christmas Duet, and I also like to write heartfelt ballads that can trigger emotions in the listener like my song Too Much To Take.

Who are your musical inspirations?

I have many musical inspirations. I love a belter, like Christina Aguilera and Adele. I love singers who write upbeat songs to dance to, like Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and I love diverse singers that can sing any style such as ballads, pop and musical theatre, like Olivia Rodrigo and Ariana Grande.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

The first gig I ever went to was The Spice Girls concert in Croke Park when I was nine. I don't remember it too well but I went to Lizzo and Olivia Rodrigo more recently and they were phenomenal. I danced and sang just as much as they did on the night, loved them so much. They were amazing!!

What was the first record you ever bought?

The first CD I ever got was The Fame by Lady Gaga, which was my first birthday present from my mam. It sounds like an odd present for a baby but I loved her songs. I would be dancing so much in the buggy that I would make the buggy hop across the room. There was no better present for me when my first birthday came around.

What’s your favourite song right now?

My favourite song right now is Sorry by Justin Bieber. It has been my favourite song since I was six and I was copying the dancers in the music video. It is just such an upbeat, fun song. I also love the music video for it so much that I used it as inspiration for my latest music video for my new song Everything to Me, using the white background, colourful costumes and fun dance routine. I got all the dancers to have their little moment to show off their dancing as well. I'd love kids to dance along to my music video as well, that would be amazing!

Favourite lyric of all time?

"We're in love with the world, but the world just wants to bring us down by puttin' ideas in our heads that corrupt our hearts somehow" - I Drink Wine by Adele.

I think this is a really powerful lyric and really captures many experiences I have had and many of us have had. We bring something out into the world that we are happy about, excited about and having the best of intentions but the world can be a very cruel place and your amazing thing can be torn apart and criticised and made into something different. The joyful intentions are lost and all that spreads far and wide can be criticism and negativity.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna. It's an absolute bop and the vocals are so clear on it. It always puts me in a great mood.
