Former Van Morrison bassist Clive Culbertson has released his new single, How Can You Say, featuring Simon McBride of Deep Purple. We asked him the BIG questions . . .

Ballymoney-born bassist, vocalist, songwriter, recording engineer and record producer Clive recently regained rights to a catalogue of over 40 songs after a lengthy publishing rights battle.

He was the featured Bassist on Van Morrison's 1989 album, Avalon Sunset.

How Can You Say is "a reimagined" version of his 2010 song, from the album Still Havin’ Fun and was produced and engineered in his own No Sweat Studios in Coleraine.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I am a musician, a sound engineer and a druid healer and teacher.

How would you describe your music?

Pop country.

Who are your musical inspirations?

The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Jimmy Webb.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

My parents took me to see The Real McCoy, one of the finest Irish pop showbands in 1966. Magnificent.

What was the first record you ever bought?

First record I remember buying is Everlasting Love by Love Affair. Still my favourite record of all time.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Disney Girls by The Beach Boys.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Galveston by Jimmy Webb.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Disney Girls by The Beach Boys.
