The accusations fly in Tuesday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
In Tuesday's episode, Hughie and Paul are thrown when Pete won't finalise the car deal after he realises the logbook is wrong.
Pete is worried that the car is stolen and wonders if JJ is aware.
Pete then decides to call off the deal with Hughie - and it does not go down well.
Hughie tells Pete: "It's pretty obvious - you want more money, don't you?"
"This is a shakedown!" he adds.
