Former X Factor star Mary Byrne is among those paying tribute to singer and Loose Women star Linda Nolan after she died aged 65 following a long battle with cancer.

Posting on Facebook, Byrne wrote: "Devastated by the loss of our dear friend Linda Nolan. She was such a warm, funny, and utterly amazing person.

"We shared so many laughs on tours across the UK and Ireland, where we became close friends and made wonderful memories.

"Rest now, Linda. The world feels far less interesting without you in it. Thank you for everything."

Her sister, Loose Women star Coleen, shared a broken heart emoji on X, while Anne shared three hearts, alongside an official announcement of Linda's death.

Meanwhile, the ITV chat show Loose Women has sent its love to the Nolan family.

Linda Nolan had appeared as a guest panellist on the talkshow over the years while her sister Coleen is a regular presenter on the programme.

"We are saddened by the news Linda Nolan, Coleen's sister, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017, has died at the age of 65", a statement posted to the show’s Instagram said.

It re-shared the family’s statement and added: "We are sending all our love to Coleen and Linda’s family."

Singer Shane Nolan said he was "very grateful" he could spend a few hours with his aunt before her death.

He wrote on X: "My beautiful Aunty Linda. Got to spend a few hours with her yesterday which I'm very grateful for."

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas said the news was "so sad" as she commented on the post, adding: "Thinking of you @coleen_nolan."

Comedian and singer Tommy Cannon wrote on Instagram: "I'm heartbroken to hear about the passing of Linda Nolan.

"I had the pleasure of working with her on so many occasions, and she was always a joy – full of warmth and love. My thoughts and love are with the Nolan girls and the whole family."

Strictly professional dancer Amy Dowden also sent "so much love" to Linda’s family and friends.
