RTÉ recorded its highest TV audience share in over a decade in 2024, with a 27.9% share of the linear TV audience, according to TAM Ireland/Nielsen. This surpasses its previous peak of 27.7% in 2013.

RTÉ also increased its share among 15-34-year-olds, growing from 20.4% in 2013 to 25.4% last year.

TAM Ireland/Nielsen is the organisation that measures television audiences in Ireland.

The broadcaster dominated the most-watched programmes list, delivering 42 of the Top 50 shows, led by The Late Late Toy Show and major sporting events such as the Six Nations, All-Ireland Finals, and UEFA Euro 2024.

RTÉ Player saw a record-breaking 142 million streams, up 42% from 2023, with Euro 2024, EastEnders, and Yellowstone among its most-streamed content.

News and national events also drew significant audiences, including coverage of the general election debates and storms Darragh and Isha. Major moments from the Paris Olympics, including Kellie Harrington's gold medal win, were also viewer highlights.
