This year's Late Late Toy Show ended on a high note on Friday night as Mariah Carey aka The Queen of Christmas surprised a young fan called Abiha with a personal video message.

In a 30-second clip, the 55-year-old chart-topper wished everyone watching the prorgramme "a wonderful Christmas" while lavishing praise on "all of the amazing kids taking part in the show".

She said: "Hello to everyone watching The Toy Show tonight.

"It's Mariah Carey here and I wanted to wish each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas on what I believe is the most magical night of the year."

The songstress hailed the children involved as "superstars" and encouraged them to "have the time" of their lives.

She added: "To all of the amazing kids taking part in the show, I want you to all know that you are superstars.

"So go out there and have the time of your lives - and remember, you’ve got this."

Shortly after the video, a starstruck Abiha belted out Carey's festive hit, All I Want for Christmas is You, which ended this year’s Late Late Toy Show on a high.

Released in 1994, Carey's much-loved track peaked at number six in the US. However, it has since reached the top spot in over 30 countries.

According to The New York Post, it is estimated that Carey makes around $3 million every year from the song and as of 2021 the song has earned over $60 million since its release.

She previously told Billboard that she had "no idea" the impact the song would "eventually have worldwide".

"How could I? It was so early on in my career and most young artists, at that time, weren’t really making Christmas music at the onset of their careers," she added.
