Enya Cox Dempsey has expressed her excitement about representing Ireland at Junior Eurovision 2024 as she prepares to take the stage in Madrid tomorrow.
The 14-year-old from Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, will perform her catchy, uptempo entry Le Chéile entirely as Gaeilge at the contest on Saturday, 16 November.
The show will feature 17 countries competing for the Junior Eurovision 2024 title and will be broadcast live on TG4 at 5 p.m.
Speaking to RTÉ Radio 1's Morning Ireland from Spain's capital city, Enya explained how she became this year's Irish Eurovision hopeful: "I auditioned for Junior Eurovision Éire back in March, the auditions were held in Athlone.
"I got a callback to tell me I was in the top 10 and then a competition was on every Sunday for four weeks.
"I got picked and here I am now!"
The singer, who appeared on The Late Late Toy Show last year performing Olivia Rodrigo's Vampire, said she's been having the "best" time in Madrid ahead of the live show.
She said: "This week has been amazing. We came into the hotel [in Madrid] and Le Chéile was playing when we walked in, so that was lovely.
"I've met all the contestants and everybody is so welcoming, we've made a big family.
"I've had rehearsals on the stage, it's massive. It's been amazing, it's wonderful. I've been having the best week."

Enya will be the second last act to perform on the live show on Saturday, but viewers can vote for her on www.jesc.tv from Friday at 8pm. You can vote for your own country, unlike the senior Eurovision contest.
The performer said she is "a little bit nervous" but "more excited" ahead of the Junior Eurovision show.
"I'm going to do my best and see what happens!", she said.

You can vote for Enya here from 8pm on Friday, 15 November until the start of the live show.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will broadcast live on TG4 at 5pm on Saturday, 16 November.
