The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by David Brophy, will return to Dublin for a special performance of Songs of David Bowie at the 3Arena on 2 March 2025.
This follows two sold-out shows at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre last year. The concert is presented by Singular Artists in association with the Dublin Bowie Festival and is adapted from the 2021 RTÉ One television recording Bowie: Starman — with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
The show will feature specially commissioned arrangements of some of Bowie's most well-known songs, including Life on Mars, Heroes, Starman, Changes, and Space Oddity. Dubliner Gerry Leonard, a long-time collaborator with Bowie, will lead the performance as the Musical Director.
The orchestra will be joined by several of Bowie’s former band members, including drummer Sterling Campbell, guitarist Mark Plati, and bassist Gail Ann Dorsey. Special guest performers include Faye O’Rourke (Soda Blonde), Dana Masters, Duke Special and Shobsy.
The concert coincides with the tenth edition of the Dublin Bowie Festival, which celebrates Bowie’s work and legacy. The festival features a wide range of artists from various disciplines and attracts attendees from across Ireland and beyond.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, 25 October from ticketmaster.ie and singularartists.ie
