Look out for Paddington Bear in Westport

As part of the Paddington Visits trail, one of 23 statues of the beloved marmalade-loving bear is being unveiled on Friday in Westport, Co Mayo.

The trail spans key locations across Ireland and the UK marking the excitement surrounding the upcoming release of Paddington in Peru, set to hit Irish cinemas on 8 November.

The new film follows Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) as he embarks on a journey back to his home in the Peruvian jungle to reunite with Aunt Lucy (voiced by Imelda Staunton), now living in a home for retired bears.

The Brown family, played by Emily Mortimer, Hugh Bonneville, Madeleine Harris, and Samuel Joslin, joins him for another adventure that takes them from the Amazon rainforest to the heights of the Peruvian mountains.

The Paddington Visits trail, created by the London-based studio 3D Eye Ltd, celebrates the bear’s legacy and invites fans to spot the statues in various scenic locations. Mayo joins iconic places like Edinburgh, Liverpool, and London Paddington Station in hosting a Paddington statue for fans and tourists alike.
