Tom Vaughan-Lawlor has joined Michael Fassbender in the cast of the upcoming spy thriller series The Agency.

The cast of the Showtime series for Paramount+ also includes Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, David Harewood, and Ray BLK.

US entertainment trade publication Deadline reports that The Agency follows 'Martian' (Fassbender), "a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station".

"When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity, and his mission are pitted against his heart, hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage."

Vaughan-Lawlor will play Ben, the "signals intelligence expert" at London Station.

Based on the French series Le Bureau des Legendes, The Agency is currently in production in London.

Fassbender is among the executive producers of the series.

George Clooney is another executive producer through his company, Smokehouse Pictures.
