Brooklyn and Intermission director John Crowley has been lined up to direct Five, a psychological thriller currently in development at TriStar Pictures in the US.

Entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says that Five is written by Seth Reiss, the co-writer of the Ralph Fiennes-starring comedy-horror The Menu.

The film is described as "a two-hander" about "a recent widow who becomes obsessed with the actress of a one-woman show".

Crowley's other credits include Black Mirror, Life After Life, Modern Love, The Goldfinch, True Detective, and Boy A.

His new film, the acclaimed romantic drama We Live in Time, starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, opens in Irish cinemas on New Year's Day.
