The song follows the release of her EP The Wolf Called Desire earlier this year.

Reflecting on the song, she says, "I wrote this song during a time last year when I was going out a lot and spending the entire next day being consumed by guilt and dread, which is pretty universal I think.

"The song is a personification of that dread, that anxiety, it scratches out your eyes and makes you word-vomit all the awful things you think about yourself. Like everybody hates me anyway so I hate everybody too.

"Flashing memories, piercing pangs of a headache... By the time you're reaching the end, it feels like the only option that remains is acceptance. Or murder. We all get it, it's torturous. I'm yet to learn my lesson."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I love video games and the beach. I'm a Sagittarius.

Alternative folk. Haunting but peaceful.

Alex G, Sufjan Stevens and Adrianne Lenker are my main influences at the moment.

The X-Factor tour that Wagner and Cher Lloyd were on. Whatever year that was.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
