Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight have reunited on the set of the Peaky Blinders film which started production on Monday.

The Oscar-winning Irish actor is reprising his leading role as calculating gangster Tommy Shelby in the feature film which continues the story of the wildly popular BBC drama.

The show's creator Knight, who has written the script for the movie, commented: "I'm thrilled to see the cameras rolling on this new chapter of the Peaky Blinders story, set during World War II.

"The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders."
