Oasis have said that they will not be using dynamic pricing on ticket sales for their just announced concert dates in the US, Canada and Mexico next year.

It comes after millions of fans were left outpriced by the controversial dynamic pricing mechanism when tickets for the band's reunion shows in Ireland the UK went on sale last August.

In a statement issued on Monday, Oasis said: "Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.

"It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable.

"But, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.

"We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently."

After teasing the announcement of new dates with billboards in New York, Toronto, Chicago and other cities over the weekend, the band's official Twitter account said, "America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along."

The band, who have already sold out 19 reunion shows in cities such as Dublin, Cardiff, Manchester and London next summer, also provided a link for fans to register for the North American ticket pre-sale private ballot.

Oasis will play Toronto Rogers Stadium on 24 August, Chicago Soldier Field on 28 August, New Jersey MetLife Stadium on 31 August, Los Angeles Rose Bowl Stadium on 6 September, and Mexico City Estadio GNP Seguros on 12 September.

The pre-sale will take place Thursday, 3 October and tickets go on general sale this Friday, 4 October at midday local venue time.

Support for the shows will be US band Cage The Elephant.

The dates will be Oasis's first shows in North America since 2008 when they toured their Dig Out Your Soul album.

Controversy and anger surrounded the roll-out for tickets when the band's reunion was announced last August, with many fans battling technical issues, queuing problems and rocketing prices.
