Andrew Scott is to reprise his multiple roles in the West End solo hit Vanya when the production is staged Off-Broadway next Spring.

US entertainment trade publication Deadline reports that Vanya will be staged at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Manhattan's West Village.

Performances will begin on Tuesday 11 March 2025 and opening night will be Tuesday 18 March.

Vanya, an adaptation of the Anton Chekhov play Uncle Vanya, was previously staged at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End last Autumn.

Scott plays every role in the production, which he co-created alongside director Sam Yates and adapter Simon Stephens. He was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor earlier this year.

In a statement announcing the play's move to New York, the Dubliner said: "I love this masterpiece of a play. I love these heartbreaking, hilarious, sexy, characters. I love my colleagues with whom I made this show. I love New York. So, I couldn't be more thrilled to bring Vanya to the audiences at the Lortel Theatre."

Scott previously starred on Broadway in the 2006 production of David Hare's The Vertical Hour, directed by Sam Mendes and co-starring Bill Nighy and Julianne Moore.
