Death announced of Johnny Cash's brother Tommy

The death has been announced of country singer Tommy Cash, brother of Johnny, at the age of 84.

Tommy was born on April 5, 1940 in Dyess, Arkansas. He and Johnny were two of seven siblings, and Tommy spent time in the US Army.

The Six White Horses singer, who played The Grand Social in Dublin in 2016, joined forces with Hank Williams Jr. early in his music career and signed his first record deal in 1965 with Musicor.

The Rise and Shine singer later switched to a deal with United Artists Records, and released I Didn't Walk the Line, a joke on his brother's iconic 1956 track I Walk the Line.

Tommy continued to honour the Cash legacy long after his brother died at the age of 71 in September 2003.
