Return of the crime drama set in a former mining town, starring David Morrissey and Lesley Manville.
David Harewood, Robert Lindsay and Aisling Loftus join the cast.
Set in the present day i, Season 2 introduces two new families that find themselves entangled with the Sparrows, entering a complex web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge, and betrayal.
Meanwhile, a newly appointed Sheriff of Nottingham is passionately fighting against a proposed new coal mine for the area, which brings the promise of much needed jobs and prosperity but also unwelcome reminders of the legacy that has mired the community for so long.
But as the proposal for the opening of the new mine creates division in the community, a senseless murder threatens to reignite historic turf wars that plagued the Nottingham of old.

Antiques Roadshow, 8.00pm, BBC One
This show is about as Middle England as it gets. Still hugely popular, of course.
Fiona Bruce (above) presents from Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery in Ealing, west London, where treasures include a royal paintbox, a collection of Italian jewellery and a rare wartime medal awarded to a carrier pigeon.
Fiona also finds out about 18th-century architect John Soane and the celebrity friends he entertained in the house, and meets Matthew Sweet to relive the glory days of Ealing comedy.
The Misinvestigations of Romesh Ranganathan, 9.00pm, BBC Two
The comedian Romesh Ranganathan (above) tries get to the bottom of two more of the most mysterious celebrity deaths, assisted by criminal psychologist, writer and podcaster Julia Shaw.
He begins by investigating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in September 1996, with the star dying six days after being shot, a crime for which nobody has ever been convicted.
Big Cats 24/7, 8.00pm, BBC Two
Gordon Buchanan (below), Anna Dimitriadis and Vianet Djenguet embark on a six-month expedition following lions, leopards and cheetahs in Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Gordon films one of the largest lion prides in Africa as they hunt to feed 28 hungry mouths, while Anna tracks down the region's most elusive big cat, the cheetah.
Local wildlife film-maker Brad Bestelink reunites with his favourite leopardess Xudum, but a huge wildfire threatens the resident big cats, and the team.
Guy Martin: Top Gun, 9.00pm, Channel 4
Guy Martin trains to fly a classic frontline fighter jet, and builds a jet engine in his shed in a single day to gain an understanding of the technology's original creator, maverick British genius Sir Frank Whittle.
With jet travel being a major contributor to climate change, Guy looks for less damaging alternatives, before he heads off to the Swiss Alps and his final mission - to fly a fighter jet through the mountains.

The documentary traces Mayall's colourful life and career, and features footage from his star-studded 70th-birthday concert.
