Following the excitement and medal haul for Team Ireland at the Olympic Games, RTÉ will have comprehensive reportage to keep everyone up to date with Paralympic action over the coming weeks.
Broadcasting live across 12 days from Wednesday 28 August to Sunday 8 September, RTÉ will provide its largest ever range of television coverage of the Paralympics, with 104 hours on RTÉ2, as well as an unprecedented amount of RTÉ Player exclusive content.
Supporters can follow all the activity live from Paris daily across RTÉ2, RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ News, 2FM, RTÉ Player and on RTÉ.ie.
The action will kick off in Paris with a reimagined Opening Ceremony, which, like the Olympic Games, will take place outside of the traditional stadium opening ceremony format. RTÉ will have live commentary from John Kenny and former Paralympian, James Scully.
Throughout the games, Eamon Horan, Siobhan Madigan and Darren Frehill will report from Paris for RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player as well as providing updates on RTÉ Radio 1 including Morning Ireland, Today with Claire Byrne, and News At One.
RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player
As part of RTÉ's extensive coverage of the Games, RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player will follow the 35-strong Team Ireland, bringing viewers the most up-to-date information every morning with live feeds for Paris Paralympics 2024: Matin.
Daráine Mulvihill will present live from Paris in the afternoon for Paris Paralympics 2024: Après-midi and Evanne Ní Chuilinn will share evening highlights and analysis from Dublin with Paris Paralympics 2024: Soir.
Some of RTÉ's rotating panellists for the Games include sports journalist Joanne O’Riordan and former Paralympians Michael McKillop (Athletics), Jason Smyth (Athletics), Niamh McCarthy (Discus) and James Scully (Swimming).
RTÉ Player will be offering over 500 hours of live action available to watch over four digital channels, ensuring Irish audiences can experience all the action and success of Team Ireland as it happens.
Viewers can get their Paralympics fix in advance of the Games with Para-swimmer Nicole Turner and Para-cycling veterans Katie-George Dunleavy and Eve McCrystal in Paths to Paris on RTÉ Player. The four-part series follows Ireland's top medal prospects as they strive to qualify for the greatest show on earth, the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
