Scarface actor Ángel Salazar dies aged 68

The death has been announced of the actor and comedian Ángel Salazar, best known for his role as Chi Chi opposite Al Pacino's Tony Montana in director Brian De Palma's 1983 film Scarface. He was 68.

The Cuban-born actor's death was confirmed to TMZ by his representative, Ann Wingsong, who said he "passed away in his sleep" at a friend's home in Brooklyn, New York over the weekend.

Wingsong said that Salazar had suffered from heart issues.

Salazar reunited with Pacino for 1993's Carlito's Way, also directed by De Palma.

His other screen credits included the films Where the Buffalo Roam, A Stranger Is Watching, and Punchline.
