Beta Da Silva, who usually presents The New Music Show on 2FM, has taken over the station's drivetime slot, promising it will be "all about the music".
The radio presenter has taken over the 3-6pm slot which, up until recently, was presented by David O'Reilly and Lottie Ryan after the departure of The 2 Johnnies in May.
Sharing the news on social media, Da Silva said it was "a huge honour and privilege to have an opportunity like this".
In a video posted to Instagram stories, he said: "I'm going to be stepping away from The New Music Show for just a little bit because I'm going to be holding it down on drivetime here on 2FM."
The presenter said the show will be "all about the music, so if you love your music make sure to lock it down with me on 2FM."
Da Silva, who started on RTÉ Pulse in 2017 and previously presented Weekend Breakfast on the station, also listed some career highlights from the last few years, writing: "Overnight shows, Weekend Breakfast, presenting from EP live, presenting Choice Music Prize live, covering for OG Tracy's show & most memorably, being able to contribute & shine a light on Irish music in the country & beyond."
He added: "Very surreal that I get to add another to the list. All these things have lead me to where I’m at today & I’m very grateful."
Fellow 2FM broadcasters Tracy Clifford and Laura Fox and musicians Erica Cody and Georgia Gaffney were among those offering their congratulations to the radio presenter.
Lottie Ryan, who took over the 2FM drivetime slot on a temporary basis alongside David O'Reilly following the departure of The 2 Johnnies, recently took to social media to "clear up some recent headlines" that she was being axed from the show earlier than planned.
She wrote on Instagram: "When it was announced that I would be taking over Drive, it was always agreed between myself and my bosses that this would be for a five-week stint. The term "summer schedule" has led to some confusion, implying a 12-week duration.
"To clarify - the plan was always for a short-term cover, and I knew this from the start. I'm not going anywhere and am very much part of 2FM."
As well as The 2 Johnnies, Jennifer Zamparelli, Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O'Callaghan are also among the high-profile presenters to have departed 2FM in recent months.
