An emotional Patrick Kielty has signed off on his first season of The Late Late Show, saying that the hosting job is "the joy of a lifetime."
The Co Down man took over the reigns of the Friday night institution last September and the final show of his first season featured guests Michael Flatley and the casts of TV series The Young Offenders and The Dry.

Just as the show ended, Kielty addressed the audience at home.
"When I first walked out here last September I said it was the honour of a lifetime to do this job," he said.
"After nine months of sitting in this chair I now know that it is the joy of a lifetime and that is because of everyone who works on this show and mostly because of all of you watching at home.
"The way you've welcomed me into your Friday nights has meant the world to me. Thank you for tuning in and being so kind. Have a great summer and I will see you in the Autumn."
