The Fall Guy's Ryan Gosling has told RTÉ Entertainment why it has taken him so long to work with co-star Emily Blunt.
The A-listers have been praised for their winning chemistry in the big-screen take on the 1980s TV favourite - with some predicting that the action-romance will be the first in a long line of starring vehicles for the duo.
When RTÉ Entertainment asked Gosling why film fans are only seeing him and Blunt as co-stars now in 2024 - whether it was due to bad timing or bad scripts - he cut straight to the chase.
"It just never happened."

"I've wanted to work with her for so long, but I just never had the opportunity," Gosling continued. "This was [the first chance]."
Director David Leitch added that Gosling and Blunt were "the only two people" he and his co-producer wife Kelly McCormick wanted to cast in The Fall Guy.
"We went to Ryan early and we brought up Emily's name early on as well. And I think you (to Gosling) were also like, 'That's a great call. She's the best at what she does'.
"Just together, they're two great actors that want the best for the scene and the movie - and that's sometimes rare!"
The Fall Guy is in cinemas from Thursday 2 May.
