Former Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson has revealed she has a stoma bag as she battles a chronic bowel condition.

The 34-year-old, who rose to fame on the E4 reality show in 2011, took to Instagram to tell her fans she'd had her colon removed six years after being diagnosed with the condition.

Thompson suffered further illness since giving birth to her son in 2021 and was later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress and lupus.

Thompson wrote, "Introducing the grey bag that may well have saved my life"

Addressing her 1.4 million followers, Louise shared a video of herself revealing the pouch covering the opening on her abdomen to divert waste.

She captioned the short video, "HOW DO I DISCLOSE THIS SORT OF NEWS?

"It's not exactly exciting like a big pregnancy or gender reveal announcement! Hey look I’m having a boy… Hey look I’ve got a stoma!"

She continued: "So I guess I’ll just stand here. Proud in stature. With my new friend Le bum bag that represents life. And hopefully a better one," she said.

"Isn’t it bizarre that this little grey pouch is the price I pay for good health! I say good riddance to that nasty menacing colon!"

She finished the post by writing, "Please be kind."

In February, Thompson revealed she was losing a cup of blood every 20 minutes while on holiday with her family in Antigua, and booked an early flight home to the UK where she was rushed to hospital.

At the time, she said that her body was "surviving", "masking" and "compensating" but that her symptoms "raised alarm bells" for her family.

"I couldn't cope anymore. Nothing was getting better on its own. Way beyond the point of self-healing, wellness, eating right bla bla bla," she said.

Thompson appeared in Made In Chelsea's first series in 2011, progressing to become one of the E4 show’s main characters.

Her partner Ryan Libbey joined the cast in 2016 during filming in the South of France.

Thompson now owns several business ventures in the health and wellness fields.
