Tell us three things about yourself . . .
Sean: My name is Sean Delander, I'm the guitarist of Thy Art Is Murder, I have red hair, love Jameson whisky and my family comes from Ireland!
How would you describe your music?
Kevin: We like to think of ourselves as a modern death metal band.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Jesse: They are wide reaching which comes through in our music. From a metal perspective we have certainly been inspired by bands as diverse as Behemoth, Decapitated, Cynic, Darkthrone, Ulcerate, Lamb Of God and Gojira.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Andy: The first gig I ever went to was a local band hardcore gig that featured two future juggernauts of Australian music, Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Sean: The first record I remember really being into was At The Drive In’s Relationship Of Command. I was only ten though so maybe my older brother bought it for me.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Andy: This month it’s the song wouldyouwaitforme by the band Moodring from Florida. Hunter is a mate of mine and as soon as I heard I texted him to let him know he had written a perfect song.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Too hard to pin one down but one that’s been with me for over 20 years comes from Muse: "Wash me away, Clean your body of me, Erase all the memories, They will only bring us pain, And I've seen, all I'll ever need".
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Andy: One time our old drummer Lee and I did a 12-hour drive and only listened to Bury Your Dead’s Fever Dream on repeat so I may have come closer to living that nightmare more than most. The past few years that song might be Rammstein’s Deutschland.
